【摘要】:Thereareseveralpurposesofthistest:Fortransmissionloss:(a)tocharacterizethesoundinsulationcharacteristicsofmaterialsinalessexpensiveandlesstimeconsumingapproachthanTestMethodE90andISO140-3(x201C;reverberantroommethodsx201D;),(b)toallowsmallsamplestestedwhenlargersamplesareimpossibletoconstructortotransport,(c)toallowarapidtechniquethatdoesnotrequireanexperiencedprofessionaltorun.Fortransfermatrix:(a)todetermineadditionalacousticpropertiesofthematerial;(b)toallowcalculationofacousticpropertiesofbuilt-uporcompositematerialsbythecombinationoftheirindividualtransfermatrices.Therearesignificantdifferencesbetweenthismethodandthatofthemoretraditionalreverberantroommethod.Specifically,inthisapproachthesoundimpingesonthespecimeninaperpendiculardirection(x201C;normalincidencex201D;)only,comparedtotherandomincidenceoftraditionalmethods.Additionally,revererationroommethodsspecifycertainminimumsizesfortestspecimenswhichmaynotbepracticalforallmaterials.Atpresentthecorrelation,ifany,betweenthetwomethodsisnotknown.Eventhoughthismethodmaynotreplicatethereverberantroommethodsformeasuringthetransmissionlossofmaterials,itcanprovidecomparisondataforsmallspecimens,somethingthatcannotbedoneinthereverberantroommethod.Normalincidencetransmissionlossmayalsobeusefulincertainsituationswherethematerialisplacedwithinasmallacousticalcavityclosetoasoundsource,forexample,aclosely-fittedmachineenclosureorportableelectronicdevice.Transmissionlossisnotonlyapropertyofamaterial,butisalsostronglydependentonboundaryconditionsinherentinthemethodanddetailsofthewaythematerialismounted.Thismustbeconsideredintheinterpretationoftheresultsobtainedbythistestmethod.Thequantitiesaremeasuredasafunctionoffrequencywitharesolutiondeterminedbythesamplingrate,transformsize,andotherparametersofadigitalfrequencyanalysissystem.Theusablefrequencyrangedependsonthediameterofthetubeandthespacingbetweenthemicrophonepositions.Anextendedfrequencyrangemaybeobtainedbyusingtubeswithvariousdiametersandmicrophonespacings.Theapplicationofmaterialsintoacousticalsystemelementswillprobablynotbesimilartothistestmethodandthereforeresultsobtainedbythismethodmaynotcorrelatewithperformancein-situ.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheuseofatube,fourmicrophones,andadigitalfrequencyanalysissystemforthemeasurementofnormalincidenttransmissionlossandotherimportantacousticpropertiesofmaterialsbydeterminationoftheacoustictransfermatrix.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
